me and my mom get coffee at a local cafe often and we always say thank you and please the baristas there are so nice

Im gluten free and yes its annoying and yes more should be available but its not the staffs fault if i go somewhere and nothing is gluten free i dont eat ill go somewhere else not moan at the staff about it

Great short! I think some CBTL still have the manual styles but even theyre getting rid of them now. Starbucks USED to have the manual style machines. Then as they became more popular baristas were expected to make drinks fast and there were a lot of wrist injuries! resulting in baristas quitting, suing and workers comp nightmares for the corp. Then of course instead of teaching baristas how to safely make the espresso and removing the pressure to make things as fast as possible, they brought along the verisimos and mastrenas or whatever other machines we see today. Also, unless it was cold outside (I live in a warm state) most drinks were made in a blender or shaken anyway :( why invest in good espresso when people are ordering sugary ice blended milk with powdered instant coffee in it?

I will go deep in thought when on bar and one time I was replaying a scene from GOT in my mind..I started to call out something that was NOT the drink. My co-worker started laughing and said "What did you say?" I almost died, "Nothing. That wasn't English. I literally said nothing." 😂

I'm on the "other side" of the counter as I've never been a barista. However, the bulk of my 30+ year professional career has been Customer Service based. I'm disheartened that customers just go brain-dead when it comes to interacting with employees at Starbucks. And other places to be honest. On behalf of those on the "other side" - I'm truly sorry for the pathetic customers.

I get a frightening amount of these. I like getting iced cappuccinos. Or people who order a cappuccino and then ask for no foam or complain that there’s too much foam…

U realise Starbucks does a double mac which is the traditional one, they r 2 different drinks completely different

Way back when Starbucks was first booming I worked there during college. We had to measure out our grinds and tamp them ourselves. Steaming milk and how to pour…They had us do classes every three months on coffee and I learned a lot. We had customers come in who would want sweet shots or long shots etc. Before I left they were bringing in automatic machines and opened up a crazy amount of locations. Looks like Starbucks has changed since then 😢
